Libraries hold summer reading programs
Mt. Pleasant
Mt. Pleasant Public Library Summer Reading theme this year is, “Libraries Rock!” Opening event will be Wednesday, May 30, at the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Center, 10 North State, and will begin every Wednesday morning at 10:15 a.m. thru 11:30 a.m., through Wednesday, July 18.
Sessions will feature guests, music, stories, crafts, treats and prizes for all ages from birth through elementary school. Those entering middle school through high school may sign up for the teen program starting May 30. All readers from surrounding areas are invited to join the fun!

Fountain Green
Fountain Green Library serves the communities of Fountain Green, Moroni, and Wales. The theme of this year’s summer program is, “Be Creative”, which will run from June 5 to Aug. 7, and is open to all ages.
To kick off the program, A Night of Art will be held Tuesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. Then on Tuesday, June 26, at 7 p.m., there will be a Night with the Authors. Prizes and displays of illustrations and short stories will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m.

Ephraim
Ephraim Public Library will host its annual Summer Reading Program, “Libraries Rock”, from June 4 thru Aug. 11. There will be activities for all age groups throughout the summer. Sign-ups begin on Monday, June 4, and the program officially begins on Monday, June 11. The library is also a sponsor of 1,000 Books before Kindergarten, so sign up the very young from birth to kindergarten today. For more information call (435) 283-4544.
Preschool Story Time will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with different themes each day. June 12, Drums; June 14, Jazz; June 19, Nature sounds; June 21, Dance; June 26, Music; June 28, Songs; July 3, Fun at the Farm; July 5, Dinosaurs roar; July 10, The zoo; July 12, Birds; July 17, All mixed up; July 19, Vroom vroom; July 26, Pete the cat; July 31, Animal Sillies; Aug. 2, Music and movement; Aug. 7, Sandra Boynton sing and dance; Aug. 9, Birthday party.
Kids ages 5-9, will have Kids Club activities; including Art Rocks, Music Rocks, and Reading Rocks.
Tweens ages 10-14, can participate in Acting Rocks, the Tween Book Club (which will read Hoot and Matilda), Writing Rocks, Girls Club and Tween Scene.
Teens ages 14-18, can participate in a Summer Kick Off Party, Teen Dance Party, Teen Scene and Teen Reads which will read Born to Rock and Lemonade Mouth.
Adults can participate in the Adult Book Club, which in June will read Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, then in July, Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Adults are also welcome to join Art Journaling and the Cookbook Club.
Events for the whole family will include Movie Matinee Fridays at 3 p.m. The schedule includes: June 8, Sing!; June 15, Happy Feet; June 22, Moana; June 29, Grease; July 6, Annie; July 13, Frozen; July 20, High School Musical; July 27, Secret Life of Pets; Aug. 3, Tangled; and Aug. 10, The Muppets.
There will also be Family Thursday Night events, but dates are not set yet. Events will include Karaoke-Dance Night; Bookopoly; Wildlife Night; Astronomy Night; Music Science Night; Fossil Dig; Where the Wild Things Are; and Campfire Cookout.
The Summer Program closing event will be held on Aug. 11, Ephraim Rocks!

The library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Manti
Manti Public Library will start its summer reading program Wednesday, June 6, with activities each Wednesday and a final celebration activity on Aug. 1. There will be no activity on Wednesday, July 4.
This year’s theme is, “Libraries Rock.” Each summer reading program session may feature activities, performers, books, treats, prizes, and music. The Teen Book Club will not meet during June and July, but will start again Aug. 9.
The public is encouraged to visit the historic Manti Library, built in 1910 – 1911, and take time to view the art on display. The paintings include artists, G. H. Jack and Carl Purcell.
An updated schedule of all library events is available at the library, 2 South Main, or check out the Manti Public Library’s Facebook page at any time. Library hours are Monday thru Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Gunnison
The Gunnison Civic Library’s summer reading theme this year is, “Libraries Rock”, and will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday, from June 5 until July 25, at 10 a.m., in the city building, 38 West Center. There are lots of fun activities planned. Stop in the library and sign up.
A book club meets on evenings, every third Thursday of the month, except in July. The public is encouraged to stop in and see the list of activities and the book of the month or online visit the Gunnison Civic Library Facebook page.
Library hours are Monday’s 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Friday’s 1 p.m.-7 p.m., Wednesday’s 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and on Saturday’s 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
