Libraries host summer reading programs
Mt. Pleasant
Mt. Pleasant Public Library Summer Reading theme this year is, “A Universe of Stories.” Opening event will be Wednesday, June 5, at the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Center, 10 North State, and will be held every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., through Wednesday, July 17.
Sessions will feature guests, music, stories, crafts, treats and prizes for all ages from birth through elementary school. Those entering middle school through high school may sign up for the teen program starting Wednesday, May 29. All readers from surrounding areas are invited to join the fun!

Fairview
Fairview is home to the Sanpete and Southern Juab County Bookmobile Headquarters and Library. In addition to providing mobile library services, the facility also serves as the Fairview Library, 75 South State Street, Fairview.
“A Universe of Stories” is this year’s theme for the summer reading program that begins on June 12 and goes through July 17. Participants will meet every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Each week there will be story time and fun activities planned.
Normal hours are Monday-Wednesday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.

Fountain Green
Fountain Green Library serves the communities of Fountain Green, Moroni, and Wales. The 2019 summer theme is “Summer Treasures at our Library.” It will run from June 3 to Aug. 12, and is open to all ages.
There will be golden bookmarks in books throughout the library with more added each week. Prizes will be given to those that find a bookmark and read the book.
Every Monday in June, from 9:30-10 a.m., a reading buddy program will be held. Then, from 10-11 a.m., all children, age’s three to 12, are encouraged to attend story hour. Anyone interested in being a reading buddy or being read to by a buddy, is encouraged to contact the library.

Ephraim
Ephraim Public Library will host its annual Summer Reading Program, “Universe of Stories”, from Monday, June 3 thru Saturday, Aug. 10. There will be activities for all age groups throughout the summer. Sign-ups begin on Monday, June 3, and the program officially begins on Monday, June 10.
The library is also a sponsor of 1,000 Books before Kindergarten, so sign up the very young from birth to kindergarten today. For more information call (435) 283-4544.
Preschool Story Time will be held starting on June 5, at 11:30 a.m., each Wednesday.
Kids ages 5-9, will have Kids Club activities every other Tuesday, starting on June 4.
Tweens ages 10-14, will meet at the Tween Scene every other Thursday starting on June 13.
Teens ages 14-18, will have a variety of activities throughout the summer, please contact the library for more details.
Adults can participate in the Adult Book Club, and other events throughout the summer. Contact the library for more details.
Events for the whole family will include a Movie Matinee every other Friday at 1 p.m. starting on June 7. For a listing of movies, please contact the library.
There will also be Family Night every other Monday starting on June 10. For more details, contact the library in mid-May.

Karen Huntsman Library
Snow College, Ephraim, is home to the Karen Huntsman Library. It functions as a full service college library and provides access to a growing list of items, including 50,000 Books; 100,000 E-Books; 5,000 Multimedia items; 250 Print periodicals; 25,000 Full-text periodicals; 1,800 Utah topographic maps; and Special Collections, including materials relating to Snow College, local history, and Utah history. Items are available by request at the Circulation Desk.
Located at 150 East Center Street, Ephraim, summertime hours are as follows: In May, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 12 noon-5 p.m., Sunday 5-10 p.m.; June and July schedule Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 5-10 p.m.; Closed August 1-19, then open with regular fall college hours.

Manti
Manti Public Library will start its summer reading program Wednesday, May 29, with activities each Wednesday and a final celebration activity on July 31. There will be no activity on Wednesday, July 3, or July 24.
This year’s theme is, “A Universe of Stories.” Each summer reading program session may feature activities, speakers, books, movies and treats.
StepUp Storytime will continue with special craft classes on Fridays during the summer at 10:30 a.m.
The Teen Meet N’ Eat Club will not meet during June, July, or August, but will start again Sept. 12.
The public is encouraged to visit the historic Manti Library, built in 1910 – 1911, and view the art by G.H. Jack, Carl Purcell, and Richard Olsen.

Gunnison
The Gunnison Civic Library’s summer reading theme this year is, “A Universe of Stories” and will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday, from June 4 until July 31, at 10 a.m., in the city building, 38 West Center. There are lots of fun activities planned. Stop in the library and sign up.

The Mayfield Lions Club is sponsoring a summer reading program at 10 a.m., every Wednesday, from June 5 – July 31, except July 24. There will be stories, activities and treats in Mayfield City Park, 200 North Main Street. All are welcome to participate.
