Experience the Mountain Camp Transformation at Sundance Resort

Sundance Mountain Resort has long been a favorite among Utah ski resorts, offering an intimate setting and exceptional terrain. With the Mountain Camp transformation (the upper parking areas near Jake’s Lift), we’ve made significant improvements to enhance the day skier experience.

Whether it’s the brand-new day lodge and expanded parking for 2024-25, plus last winter’s road reroute that allowed for top-to-bottom skiing, these updates are part of a new chapter for Sundance, named the Act2 initiative.

Rest and Refuel at Mountain Camp Day Lodge

The Mountain Camp Day Lodge is designed to be the heart of day skier activities. Located just steps from the expanded parking areas, the lodge provides everything you need to start, pause, and finish your ski day comfortably. It includes cozy locker rooms for gear storage, a convenient ticket office for easy access to lift tickets, and gear rentals to ensure you’re ready for the slopes.

If you’re feeling hungry or need a quick break, the lodge features ample space to relax and enjoy refreshments from the Mountain Camp Café, all while soaking in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Its proximity to Jake’s Lift makes it easy to get back to skiing in no time. The Mountain Camp Day Lodge is not just about storing your equipment; it serves as a welcoming hub for the entire Sundance ski community.

Smoother Parking for Day Skiers

Parking has traditionally been a challenge at ski resorts, especially during busy weekends and powder days. At Sundance, we’ve addressed this issue with recent expansions that make parking easier and more accessible than ever.

Over the past few summers, we’ve steadily increased our parking capacity, adding 90 spots in Lot E in 2021, 88 spots in Lots D and E in 2023, and an additional 110 spots in Lot E in the summer of 2024. These newly paved lots ensure a smoother experience from the moment you arrive, allowing locals and visitors to access the slopes more conveniently.

Upgrades for a More Efficient Experience

At Sundance, we are dedicated to continually enhancing the ski experience. This season’s removal of Jake’s mid-station, along with last year’s road reroute, has dramatically improved the Mountain Camp base area. Previously, skiers had to stop to cross the road; now they can enjoy an uninterrupted ride down the mountain, resulting in a smoother, more enjoyable descent.

The installation of the Outlaw Express lift and new terrain in the Wildwood area, along with improved snowmaking capabilities, have significantly enhanced the overall skiing experience. These changes again, are part of the Act2 initiative making Sundance an even more attractive destination for both locals and visitors.

Whether you’re a season pass holder or just planning a ski day this winter, we invite you to experience the exciting changes at Sundance Mountain Resort. With the transformation of the Mountain Camp area, enhanced parking, and an improved ski experience, you’ll discover why Sundance continues to be a standout among Utah ski resorts!

Wildwood Terrain Expansion (2021): Adding 40 acres of beginner and intermediate-friendly slopes, the Wildwood Lift opened access to 10 new runs, making Sundance an even better spot for ski schoolers and casual skiers.

Sundance Mountain Resort has the majority of the front mountain open for night skiing during the winter season on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Outlaw Express Lift (2021): Replacing the aging Ray’s Lift, the Outlaw Express now takes skiers to the top of Sundance’s front mountain in just seven minutes, with a mid-station for beginners.
