Well, at least in three of the four game times announced on Thursday at the Big 12 Conference Spring Business meetings.
The Cougars will kick off games against both Stanford (September 6) and at Colorado (Sept. 27) at 8:15 p.m. MDT with an 8:30 p.m. start slated when BYU hosts West Virginia on October 3. BYU’s opening game of the season versus Portland State (August 30) will begin at 6 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN+. ESPN will broadcast the other three announced games.
BYU’s matchup at Colorado will be the Big-12 Conference opener for BYU and will be a rematch of last year’s Alamo Bowl which saw the Cougars defeat the Buffaloes 36-14. Colorado will again be coached by Deion Sanders, who is entering his third year coaching at Boulder, but will be without last year’s Heisman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter and star quarterback Shedeur Sanders, both of whom entered the NFL draft after last season.
The Cougar’s game against West Virginia will take place on a Friday night with the home team hoping to overturn their 0-2 all-time record against the visiting Mountaineers. The Cougars took a tough 37-7 loss facing West Virginia is Morgantown during the 2023 season.

The 2025 season marks the beginning of the Big 12’s new media package that continues its partnerships with ESPN and FOX while adding TNT Sports to its football broadcasting portfolio. TNT Sports will now televise an exclusive slate of Big 12 football games starting this fall following an agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery and ESPN last November.
Future games will be announced on a 12-day or 6-day notice via Big12Sports.com and the conference’s digital media platforms.
