Here are the top boys soccer players in the Utah Valley area in 2023:

Player of the Year: Evan Beus, Jr. F, Lone Peak

Not only led the Knights offensively with his knack for finding the net (18 goals and 13 assists) but came through in clutch moments and was always a threat.

Offensive MVP: Tyler Klein, Sr. MF/F, Orem

Dynamic finisher with a great combination of athleticism and skill who could score (17 goals) or find openings for his teammates (10 assists).

Defensive MVP: Tanner Parry, Sr. D, Skyridge

Key stopper who set the tone for the Falcons, starting the offensive build out of the back while keeping the backline organized.

Keeper of the Year: Jackson Medina, Jr. GK, Wasatch

Excellent net-minder who was rarely out of position, finishing with 10 shutouts while only surrendering 10 goals all season.

Coach of the Year: Jerry Preisendorf, Skyridge

Molded the Falcons through the ups and downs of the season to get the most out of them at state, finding ways to win and get to the 6A title game.

2023 All-Valley Boys Soccer First Team

Clate Bergeson, Sr. F, Orem

Dynamic presences whose creativity and skill created openings for himself (four goals, seven assists) as well as the entire team.

Jayden Cosper, MF/F, Wasatch

The spearhead of the Wasp offensive attack who tallied 12 goals and five assists to lead his team to the 5A title.

Canon Downey, Jr. D, Wasatch

Set the tone for a team that only gave up 13 goals, while also scoring four goals in the attack.

Gavin Fosvick, Sr. F,  Pleasant Grove

Talented striker who spearheaded the Viking attack, scoring eight goals and adding two assists.

Jon Fritcher, Jr. MF, Pleasant Grove

Excellent vision led to consistent distributing with seven assists, notching three goals as well.

Jackson Gunther, Sr. F, Lone Peak

Dependable leader as a team captain who also made the most of opportunities (eight goals, eight assists).

Seth Gutzman, Sr. D, Provo

Important defensive presence who was always dangerous coming forward, putting in 10 goals with three assists.

Lincoln Hiatt, Sr. F, American Heritage

Amazing player who was always a threat to make something happen, as shown by his seven goals and three assists.

Thom Kramer, Jr. MF, Lone Peak

Creative player in the middle who made key offensive plays (7 goals, 3 assists) as well as impeding opposing offenses.

Lewis Mason, Jr. MF, Lone Peak

Always seemed to make the right passes, setting up 13 goals while putting three in the back of the net himself.

Liam Oberhansly, Sr. MF, Pleasant Grove

Key central presence who could find the net (four goals, three assists) but often set things up for the rest of the team.

Jesse Ruiz, Sr. MF/F, Orem

Skilled athlete who appeared to be involved in every play, ending up with seven goals and five assists.

Nate Shepherd, Sr. F, Lehi

Talented attacker who used his athleticism to break down defenders and put the ball in, scoring 14 goals.

Aidan Simmons, Jr. F, Maeser

One of the top offensive players in the state, notching 31 goals and 22 assists during a great campaign for the Lions.

Connor Watkins, Sr. GK, Lone Peak

Intuitive performer between the pipes who could be counted on to make big saves, finishing with 8.5 shutouts.

Garrett Weber, Sr. D, Lehi

Essential figure for the Pioneers in all aspects of the game with excellent ability to get the ball in the right spot (three goals, 14 assists).

Lucas White, So. MF, Skyridge

Skillful contributor who had a great touch on free kicks and on the attack (10 goals, 5 assists).
