Daily Herald writers Darnell Dickson and Brandon Gurney rank the top five Utah Valley teams in baseball, boys soccer, softball, boys volleyball, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse for the week of April 27.

BASEBALL

1. Maple Mountain 17-4

Showdown with PG this week should be a good show.

2. Lone Peak 16-3

Freshman Kingston Stroshine leads the state in batting average (.676).

3. Timpanogos 21-4

T-Wolves’ Cooper Hawkes second in the state with 42 RBI.

4. Pleasant Grove 15-6

Vikings have won 10 straight games heading into two with Maple Mountain.

5.-tie Spanish Fork 18-3

Dons have scored 52 runs in past three games.

5.-tie American Fork 11-8

Great schedule has Cavemen at No. 4 in 6A RPI.

BOYS SOCCER 

1. Lone Peak 12-1

Knights are rolling, led by standout senior Patrick Stevenson.

2. Pleasant Grove 14-0

Another week, another couple of wins for the Vikings, this time over both Maple Mountain and Payson.

3. Skyridge 10-5

Falcons get another shot at Lone Peak this week to wrap up their regular season.

4. Timpanogos 11-3

Timberwolves back in the rankings after big wins over both Mountain View and Provo.

5. Westlake 10-4

Had a stumble versus Salt Lake Academy, but rebounded with a win over Copper Hills.

SOFTBALL 

1. Salem Hills 22-1

Skyhawks retain top ranking despite losing their first game of the season to 4A powerhouse Desert Hills.

2. Lehi 20-3

Beat a trio of Region 3 opponents by a combined 47-2 score.

3. Spanish Fork 16-7

Watch out of the Dons, who won big games over both Maple Mountain and Desert Hills.

4. Maple Mountain 17-7

Golden Eagles have won five of their last six despite a tough loss taken to Spanish Fork.

5. Westlake 14-6-1

Dropped two games to top opponents Bingham and Herriman.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

1. Wasatch 21-1

Balance rules: Four Wasps have a least 100 kills this season.

2. Lehi 21-2

Junior Ashton Shewell leads the state in kills (408).

3. Lone Peak 20-6

Knights have won four straight since loss to Lehi.

4. Maple Mountain 20-4.

Senior setter Taft Hillman does it all (10.2 assists per set, 60 total blocks).

5. Mountain View 20-5

Bruins are No. 1 in 4A RPI heading into final week of play.

Cabell Buechner, Dylan Forsgren, Kaiden Hobbs have combined for 109 goals.

2. Timpview 14-1

T-Birds have won 11 in a row, big one with Wasatch coming on Tuesday.

3. Pleasant Grove 11-3

Junior goalie Spencer Taggart having a strong season (6.9 goals against average).

4. Wasatch 11-2

Huge week for Wasps with matches vs. Timpview, Pleasant Grove.

5. Springville 9-5

Don’t sleep on the Red Devils, Andrew Robinson (40 goals) will get ‘ya.

1. Skyridge 13-1

Falcons are the top team by a wide margin after defeating defending state champion Farmington 15-3.

2. Provo 13-1

Bulldogs lone loss came clear back on March 20 to West Jordan by a tight 15-14 margin.

3. Lone Peak 10-4

Norah Lisonbee leads the pace for the formidable Knights.

4. Payson 7-6

Lions remain undefeated in Region 7 play following a win over Pleasant Grove.

5. Pleasant Grove 8-5

Took a narrow 11-9 loss to Payson after bumping Salem Hills 10-9.
