Brad Kitchen is on the move again.
After one season leading the Timpview boys basketball program, Kitchen has been named the next head coach at Snow College, Athletic Director Karen Johnson announced Tuesday.
Andrew May, who led the Badgers to the NJCAA Tournament in his two seasons in Ephraim, accepted a position on Todd Phillips’ staff at Utah Valley last month as the team’s offensive coordinator.
Kitchen steps into what has been one of the premier jobs in junior college basketball.
“I am excited for this opportunity to come back home and continue to build upon the success that I was a part of during my time in Ephraim,” Kitchen said. “Snow College is a special place that prepares young men and women to be successful in the next phase of their lives.”
Kitchen returns to Snow College after serving as the assistant coach to May from 2022-2025. He will now take over the program he helped build into a national perennial power.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kitchen back to Snow College after serving as an assistant coach for three years,” Johnson said. “Kitchen helped build the program into what it is today, and we are looking forward to him continuing that success.”
Kitchen spent the 2025-26 season as the head coach at Timpview High School. He led the Thunderbirds to a 21-3 overall record and a Region 7 Championship after going 8-0 in region play. The Thunderbirds climbed to 53rd in the final national rankings of the season. He also coached the 5A Player of the Year Dean Rueckert, who will play at BYU next season.
During his time as assistant coach at Snow College, Kitchen helped guide the Badgers to a 73-21 overall record and a 31-14 mark within the Scenic West Athletic Conference. He was a part of the 2024-25 squad that went 32-2 and a perfect 15-0 in conference play for the first time in program history.
That same season, Kitchen helped the Badgers win the SWAC Championship, the Region 18 Championship, the West District Championship and secure the No. 1 overall seed in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Prior to his time at Snow College, Kitchen served as a graduate assistant at BYU from 2020-2022. He also was the head manager at Utah Valley University from 2018-19 before playing for the Wolverines during the 2019-20 season.
Kitchen, a native of Springville, Utah, prepped at Springville High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from UVU in 2020. He is married to Madison Strasburg Kitchen and they have one son, Coleman.
