Utah Valley's Sierra Pennock, right, battles with Jess Ramirez of Cal Baptist in the title match of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at UCCU Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.

Former Utah Valley women’s soccer standout Sierra Pennock has signed her first professional contract, joining SK Slavia Prague of the Czech Women’s First League.

Pennock becomes the latest Wolverine to begin a professional playing career after signing with one of the Czech Republic’s most successful clubs. Slavia Prague has won 11 Czech league championships and is a regular contender for UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification.

“Sierra has earned this opportunity to continue to play at the professional level in Europe,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. “We are really proud of her work. She loves the game, loves to compete and has some special qualities that will ensure her success. Yet another UVU player able to continue to develop in our program and realize their dream to sign a pro contract is exciting.”

Pennock joined the Wolverines for the 2025 season and played a key role in one of the best campaigns in program history. Utah Valley finished 14-5-3 overall, captured its fourth consecutive Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship, and earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lindon, Utah, native appeared in all 22 matches with 18 starts, recording two goals and six assists for 10 points while logging 1,246 minutes in the midfield. She tied for fourth on the team with six assists and helped power a Utah Valley offense that ranked second nationally in total goals, assists, and points while finishing third in NCAA Division I in scoring offense.

Pennock now joins a Slavia Prague program based in Prague, Czech Republic, and will begin her professional career in one of Europe’s top women’s football environments.

Pennock becomes the latest Wolverine to reach the professional ranks under head coach  Chris Lemay. She joins a growing list of former Utah Valley standouts now playing or that have played professionally, including  Faith Webber  (Denver Summit FC/Tampa Bay Sun FC),  Ruby Hladek  (Seattle Reign FC), Heather Stainbrook (Washington Spirit/Dallas Trinity FC), Idalia Serrano (Volos 2004), Jaylyn Wright (Vancouver Rise FC), and Amber Tripp (FC Famalicão/AC Sparta Prague).

Men’s golf signs two new athletes

Utah Valley men’s golf head coach Chris Curran has announced the signing of Dylan Winona, a freshman from St. George, and George Goff, a transfer from Cal State Monterey Bay. Both will join the Wolverines for the 2026-27 season.

Winona joins Utah Valley following an outstanding prep career at Crimson Cliffs High School, where he established himself as one of the top high school golfers in the state.

“Dylan has the ability to take it low,” Curran said. “He putts the lights out of it. I expect him to make an impact immediately.”

Winona capped his high school career by winning the individual Utah state championship while helping Crimson Cliffs capture its second team state title. He also helped lead the Mustangs to four consecutive region championships and two state championships during his prep career.

A two-sport athlete, Winona also competed in basketball while posting an impressive 67 scoring average on the golf course. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, he earned the CTE Business Pathway Award.

Off the course, Winona volunteered with Crimson Cliffs’ Unified Sports program, assisting students with special needs through athletics.

Winona plans to major in business at Utah Valley.

At Cal State Monterey Bay, Goff earned GCAA PING All-West Region and First Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honors.

“George is another guy who brings lots of tournament experience at the Division II level,” Curran said. “It will be fun to watch him compete at the Division I level.”

During the 2025-26 season, Goff competed in eight tournaments for the Otters and posted a 72.4 adjusted scoring average over 24 rounds. He finished the year ranked No. 128 nationally and No. 9 in the NCAA West Region while compiling a 372-142-24 head-to-head record.

Goff recorded two top-five finishes, four top-10 finishes and six top-20 finishes during the season. He highlighted the year with a fourth-place finish at the RCA Electric Invitational after carding rounds of 67, 71 and 73 to finish at 2-under-par 211. He also placed fifth at the Otter Invitational, tied for seventh at the Dennis Rose Invitational and finished 15th at The Hanny before advancing to the NCAA West Regional.

Goff helped Cal State Monterey Bay capture team titles at the 2025 Sonoma State Invitational and the Dennis Rose Collegiate, while also helping the Otters finish runner-up at the 2025 CCAA Championship and the 2024 Otter Invitational.

A native of Orlando, Florida, Goff will major in Business Administration at Utah Valley.

Utah Valley is set to begin its inaugural season in the Big West Conference during the 2026-27 season.
