Alternate routes suggested as University Avenue bridge construction closures begin Monday
Road closures on the University Avenue viaduct in Provo began Monday as the Utah Department of Transportation continues preparatory work to replace the aging structure. UDOT closed the west side of the bridge, which will soon be demolished, reducing the roadway to one lane in each direction. Southbound traffic was backed up to the University Avenue and 300 West intersection Monday afternoon as vehicles merged into one lane.
