Fire breaks out in mountains near Provo, burning 100 to 150 acres
A fire broke out on the mountain side in Provo south of Slate Canyon Sunday afternoon. A U.S. Forest Service spokesperson said at 6 p.m. that the fire was burning to 100 to 150 acres, and is named "Buckley Draw." Helicopters and airplanes were one scene dumping water and flames retardant on the fire. In an update after 6 p.m. Provo City Government said via Facebook that there are currently no evacuation orders, and that light wind conditions are pushing the fire up the mountain.
