Five new stores are now open for business at The Outlets at Traverse Mountain, just in time for back-to-school shopping.

PUMA, Claire’s, Sunglass Hut, Janela Bay and Sweet Bath Company are all now welcoming their first customers at The Outlets at Traverse Mountain, adding more than 12,000 square feet of new retail to the outlet mall in Lehi.

“We are so excited to be bringing more big national brands to our area,” said Kristina Ainge, senior marketing manager at the Outlets at Traverse Mountain, in a press release. “Puma has been a highly anticipated store, especially by our athletic-minded residents, and we’re excited to be making space for smaller local businesses where they have exposure to a global audience as well.”

Sweet Bath Company is a Lehi-based business started by two local mothers that offer creative bath, shower, and body products. Janela Bay, another Utah-based company, offers colorful, modest swimsuit options for women and children.

PUMA is a German company known for its athletic and casual footwear and apparel. PUMA’s location at The Outlets at Traverse Mountain is the brand’s first and only brick-and-mortar store in Utah.

In addition to shopping, diners in north Utah County will have new fast-casual Mexican options.

Cafe Rio Mexican Grill announced Wednesday that two new locations will be coming to Utah County this fall and winter.

The Utah-based restaurant chain is set to open a new location at 875 S. North County Blvd. in Pleasant Grove on Nov. 4, and at 9920 North 4800 West in Cedar Hills on Dec. 2.

“We’re thrilled to be opening three more locations in our home state of Utah,” said Steve Vaughan, CEO of Cafe Rio, in a press release. “With these openings, we’ll be able to offer more opportunities for Utahans to experience our fresh, award-winning, and flavor-packed recipes in their own neighborhoods. We’re proud to be a growing Utah-based company, where we have some of our most dedicated and fantastic fans.”

These new locations will celebrate their grand openings with giveaways and specials. The first 100 dine-in customers at each location will receive free merchandise and customers will have the chance to play Plinko at the Burrito Prize Tent for a chance to win free food or prizes. Chips and salsa or chips and queso will also be discounted to $1.99.
