The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) provided a pair of important updates for Utah County-area drivers on Thursday, announcing more lane closures on I-15 in Lehi his weekend and the seasonal closure of SR-92 in American Fork Canyon on Nov. 2.

Here are all the details from UDOT:

UDOT warns of I-15 lane closures in Lehi

Drivers should expect a new traffic pattern at 2100 North through May 2027

The Utah Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for overnight lane closures and a new traffic pattern on southbound Interstate 15 in Lehi.

On Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, crews will begin closing lanes on southbound I-15 at 2100 North (Exit 282) at 7 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane by midnight, with all lanes reopening by 4 a.m. the following morning.

During these closures, crews will shift southbound I-15 traffic to establish a new traffic pattern through the interchange. Drivers in both directions of I-15 should expect the new configuration to remain in place through May 2027.

The shift will give crews room to relocate utilities, build a stabilizing soil wall and begin foundation work for a new interchange as part of the 2100 North project.

Drivers should also expect additional overnight lane closures in both directions of I-15 at 2100 North through next week. Crews will work in one direction each night, beginning lane closures at 7 p.m. and reducing traffic to one lane by midnight to prepare for future overhead sign installation.

Scheduled for completion in late 2028, the 2100 North project will add a new 2.8-mile freeway connection between Mountain View Corridor and I-15, build a new I-15 interchange and improve pedestrian and bike connections throughout the area.

Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. For the latest updates, visit the UDOT Traffic website or download the UDOT Traffic app for iPhone or Android. You can also follow UDOT on X, Facebook and Instagram for real-time updates.

UDOT to close Alpine Loop for winter Monday, Nov. 2

SR-92 closure marks the first seasonal winter road closure of the year

The Utah Department of Transportation will close the Alpine Loop (SR-92) for the winter Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 a.m. It will be UDOT’s first seasonal winter road closure of the year.

The closure covers the mountain section between Pine Hollow in American Fork Canyon and Aspen Grove above Sundance. Drivers will no longer be able to travel between American Fork Canyon and Provo Canyon using the Alpine Loop.

UDOT closes several high-elevation roads each winter to keep drivers safe when heavy snow and rapidly changing conditions make travel hazardous. These roads remain closed through the winter, with reopening dates dependent on weather, snowpack and maintenance needs.

Drivers can still reach Sundance via Provo Canyon and Tibble Fork Reservoir via American Fork Canyon, weather and road conditions permitting.

Before heading into the mountains, check the UDOT Traffic website for current conditions and visit UDOT’s seasonal roads page for closure updates.

Starting at $4.32/week.
