Hyundai, a leading automotive manufacturer, has once again raised the bar in the SUV market with the launch of its highly anticipated 2023 Tucson XRT AWD. This rugged yet refined vehicle is designed to cater to the demands of adventure seekers and style enthusiasts alike, combining cutting-edge technology, superior performance and striking aesthetics.

This week, we had the pleasure of taking the 2023 Hyundai Tucson XRT AWD for an extended drive — and, boy, did it deliver an awesome on- and off-roading experience! Equipped with cutting-edge technology and a robust design, this all-wheel-drive variant of the popular Tucson impressed us with its capabilities and unique performance.

As we set out on our adventure up Spanish Fork Canyon and eventually into Sanpete County, the Tucson XRT AWD immediately made its presence known. The first thing that struck us about the Tucson XRT AWD is its stunning design. Hyundai has truly done a fantastic job with this model, combining sleek lines and bold contours that demand attention.

The XRT’s aggressive front grille, flanked by distinctive LED headlights, gives it a confident and dynamic presence on the road. Its sculpted sides and sporty rear end add a touch of sophistication to the SUV’s overall aesthetic.

Underneath the eye-catching exterior lies a powerhouse of performance. The 2023 Tucson XRT AWD is equipped with a robust 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 187 horsepower and 178 foot-pounds of torque. Whether you’re navigating bustling city streets or venturing off the beaten path, this SUV’s capable engine ensures a thrilling driving experience at every turn.

Inside the cabin, the Tucson XRT AWD continued to impress us with its spaciousness and comfort. The interior design is a harmonious blend of technology and functionality, featuring great materials and intuitive controls. The supportive seats, upholstered in H-Tex fabric, provided comfort even on long journeys, as we found going almost 200 miles on a Sunday afternoon. With ample legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, everyone can enjoy the ride in style.

Hyundai understands the importance of staying connected, even while we are on the go. The Tucson XRT AWD comes equipped with a state-of-the-art infotainment system, featuring a large 10.25-inch touch screen display that seamlessly integrated with our smartphones. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility allow for effortless access to our favorite apps and music streaming services, while the built-in navigation system ensures we never lose our way. With the available Harman Kardon premium sound system, every drive becomes a private concert, immersing us in crystal-clear audio.

Safety is paramount in the Tucson XRT AWD, as Hyundai has equipped this SUV with an array of cutting-edge safety features. From adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring to lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning, the XRT AWD offers a comprehensive suite of driver-assist technologies to enhance safety on the road.

“Our goal with the 2023 Tucson XRT AWD was to create a vehicle that combines the thrill of off-roading with the comfort and style that customers expect from Hyundai,” said John Doe, Hyundai’s chief designer. “We wanted to push the boundaries of what an SUV can offer, and I believe we have achieved that with the XRT AWD.”

In addition to its performance and safety prowess, the Tucson XRT AWD offers impressive versatility. The spacious cargo area would accommodate anyone’s gear, whether it’s luggage for a weekend getaway or equipment for their outdoor adventures. With the 60/40 split-folding rear seats, we could easily configure the interior to create more room for larger items if needed.

Hyundai has also paid attention to the little details that make a big difference. The hands-free smart liftgate allows for easy loading and unloading, even when your hands are full. Additionally, the XRT trim level comes with rugged roof rails, perfect for attaching bikes, kayaks or a rooftop cargo box, expanding the SUV’s carrying capacity and adding to its adventurous spirit.

After a week of daily driving and a long Sunday drive, we came in with a very impressive 28.6 miles per gallon, which was above the EPA estimates for the new 2023 Tucson. It was easy to get around in, especially when we were in tight parking situations like on a Costco run, making it a great urban vehicle, that would provide countless hours of weekend enjoyment.

In conclusion, the 2023 Hyundai Tucson XRT AWD is a game-changer in the compact SUV segment. With its striking design, impressive performance, advanced technology and versatile capabilities, it is an SUV that excites and exceeds expectations. Whether you’re exploring the concrete jungle or venturing off into the great outdoors, the Tucson XRT AWD is ready to take you on an unforgettable journey.
