Lady Badgers can’t find a rhymn during road games
EPHRAIM– The Lady Badgers, hoping to get back on the winning road, were unable to do so as they came away without a victory during a two-game road trip to North Idaho.
The Lady Badgers, 12-12 overall, 5-9 conference, have fallen to a tie for fourth place in league standings with the College of Eastern Utah. The two teams met recently as Snow College looked to break the four-game skid that it is currently on.
As the 2006-07 season has progressed for the Lady Badgers, one thing that has been prevalent is the solid post-play that Snow College has benefited from.
Lady Badger forward and center Kim Gamblin, and Lacie Titmus, who primarily plays center, tallied just over half of Snow College’s scoring. Both players were able to drop 16 points, leading the way for Snow.
Snow College also saw some positives in Cori Nielson and Chelsey Brown who both were able to reach double figures on the night with 13 and 10 respectively.
Nielson also added nine boards. Nielson, a freshman from Springville, has been one of the players on Coach Lawrence’s team that has been improving week-to-week.
The Lady Badgers, coming off of a tough loss on Friday night, were looking at a 20-point deficit by halftime during Saturday night’s game. This margin was one that the Lady Badgers would not be able to overcome as they dropped their second game in as many nights, falling to North Idaho, 80-57.
Snow College faced tremendous guard play on Saturday night as three Cardinal guards reached double figures. Jessica Thielen led all scorers with 22. Great play from the perimeter led to win for North Idaho.
On the other hand, Snow College saw a nice outing once again from Cori Nielson who nearly reached a double-double. She had 16 points and nine rebounds.
