New Meadow Brook Elementary opens in Springville
Springville students have a new elementary school.
The Nebo School District cut the ribbon on Meadow Brook Elementary, located at 748 S. 950 West, on Monday morning in front of current and future students. The school is one of the final projects from the district’s latest bond.
“Students, this is for you,” Superintendent Rick Nielsen said during the ribbon cutting. “It’s your school.”
The school was ceremonially opened one day before students in Nebo School District return to school.
The school sits on a 12-acre site where hay and sugar beets used to grow. The new school includes three playgrounds, a seven-acre playing field and 31 classrooms.
The school’s colors are navy blue, gray and green, and its mascot is the Mustangs.
“I’m excited to open the doors for a safe and fun place for the kids to be,” said Ryan Pitcher, the school’s principal.
The ribbon cutting included a song from Meadow Brook Elementary School students, a flag ceremony and pledge from Boy Scout of America troops, and was followed by an open house.
