SWAT teams descend upon Utah County for competition
Thistle Gun Range in Spanish Fork was in a flurry as more than two hundred law enforcement officers from the Intermountain Region gathered for a statewide SWAT competition and specialized training in Utah County. The home team, Utah County SWAT, has won the event for the past two years and was hoping for another victory. Other teams, such as the INL SWAT team from Idaho came to the event on their own time to practice their skills on the course.
The event, organized by Curtis Blue Line (a leader in law enforcement uniforms and equipment), featured 12 events. These included live fire courses, force-on-force scenarios, hands-on demonstrations, an obstacle course and live shooter scenarios.
Proceeds were donated to the Utah 1033 Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting the families of fallen law enforcement officers.
