While members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are glued to their TV sets this weekend for the 191st Semiannual General Conference, the great question looming out there is simple. Will they take to heart what is being said?

In his October 2020 General Conference address, President Russell M. Nelson posed a question to members of the church: “Are you willing to let God prevail in our life?”

Host of the YouTube program “Real Talk,” and inspirational speaker Ganel-Lyn Condie hopes they will. She took to heart the invitation from the past conference to let God prevail in her life. In fact, she took it to heart so much she started giving speeches about it.

From those speeches, requests came for her to publish her presentation — and that she did. “When You Let God Prevail, His Promises are Sure,” is now available in booklet form through Covenant Communications Inc.

“The booklet is based on a speech I gave to a youth conference last October,” Condie said. “It offers practical ways to let God prevail in your life.”

The speech delves into seven key concepts that illustrate what the invitation to, “let God prevail,” means in one’s life and the steps a person can take to allow the will of the Lord to guide their actions day to day.

In her comments, Condie tells how God loves his children unconditionally.

“We don’t always feel loved,” Condie said. “The message of His love is relevant in everyday life.”

Condie argues that Satan is waging an all-out attack on the world. “Where he was once subtle in his approach to ensnare and enslave, he is no longer trying to hide his attacks on God’s plan … Therefore, the only way to survive spiritually is to be determined to let God prevail in our lives, to learn to hear His voice and use our energy to help gather Israel.”

Leaders of the church have not only invited members to let God prevail in their lives, but to learn how they #HearHim. The gathering of Israel is also an important message from top leaders.

Gathering Israel doesn’t have to do with the actual country, but rather bringing the Gospel message through missionary work to the descendants of the Old Testament prophet Jacob (called Israel). His descendants come through his 12 sons, often referred to as the 12 tribes of Israel, according to church teachings. These people are scattered throughout every country in the world.

Condie’s comment on the adversarial attacks in her booklet forwards several key teachings from LDS Church leaders, including learning how to hear His voice, help gather Israel as well as letting God prevail.

“Mighty miracles are coming,” Condie said. “God has invited you to choose to let Him prevail in our life and He will prevail in every aspect of our life if you let him because He always keeps His promises.”

Condie encourages members of the church to listen this weekend to what invitations are extended from the leaders of the church as they strive to help others come closer to Christ and his teachings.
