Second fatality, driver’s name released from Oct. 31 crash in Orem

Two people are now counted as fatalities following a crash on Interstate-15 on Sunday near milepost 272 in the Orem area.

Early Sunday, a Kia passenger car was stopped in the right emergency lane of I-15. A Toyota pickup was traveling southbound at the same location and drifted into the emergency lane striking the passenger car, according to Department of Public Safety reports.

There were two occupants in the passenger car. Dead at the scene was Season M. Dow, 43, from Tampa, Florida. The driver of the Kia truck was Tobias A. Dow, 16 from American Fork who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died two days later at the hospital from those injuries, according to DPS.

The driver of the Toyota pickup truck was Kesley Pope, 22 of Pleasant Grove. She had no injuries and was transported to the section office where she was arrested for suspicion of DUI. I-15 southbound lanes 3, 4, 5, and 6 (exit-only) were blocked for extrication and investigation.
