After the close of Utah’s five-day candidate filing period, races across federal, state and local levels have filled up. Candidates who are filing with an official political party had to file before the deadline Monday. Unaffiliated candidates have until March 5 to declare candidacy in a race.

The Utah Republican and Utah Democratic parties will have their nominating conventions April 27, with Utah’s primary election being held June 25.

Here are the candidates who have filed to run for federal, state and local offices:

U.S. Senate

The field to replace U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney includes U.S. Rep. John Curtis, who currently represents Utah’s 3rd Congressional District.

Curtis will be competing in a crowded field of Republican candidates during the primaries, such as former Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson, Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs and Brent Hatch, son of the late U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch.

Here are the remaining candidates for U.S. Senate:

  • Carolyn Phippen, Republican.
  • Clark White, Republican.
  • Chandler H. Tanner, Republican.
  • Josh Randall, Republican.
  • Jeremy Lewis Friedbaum, Republican.
  • Brian Earl Jenkins, Republican.
  • Jason J. Walton, Republican.
  • Archie A. Williams III, Democratic.
  • Caroline Gleich, Democratic.
  • Laird Fetzer Hamblin, Democratic.
  • Robert Newcomb, Independent American.
  • Carlton E. Bowen, Independent American.

Utah’s 3rd Congressional District

With Curtis taking aim for the Senate, 10 Republicans and one Democrat have filed to run for the 3rd District.

Some notable candidates include current Utah state Sen. Mike Kennedy, R-Alpine, State Auditor John “Frugal” Dougall and former state Rep. Chris Herrod.

Other candidates in the race include:

  • Case Lawerence, Republican.
  • Kathryn W. Dahlin, Republican.
  • Stewart Peay, Republican.
  • Zac Wilson, Republican.
  • Lucky Bovo, Republican.
  • Glenn J. Wright, Democratic.

Utah 4th Congressional District

In Utah’s 4th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Burgess Owens has no Republican challengers. There are two Democratic Party candidates — Jonathan Lopez and Katrina Fallick-Wang — and a United Utah candidate, Vaughn R. Cook.

Utah attorney general

With current Attorney General Sean Reyes not seeking reelection amidst controversy surrounding his friendship with Tim Ballard, founder of Operation Underground Railroad, a handful of candidates are throwing their hats in the ring.

  • Rachel Terry, Republican.
  • Derek Brown, Republican.
  • Frank Demcy Mylar, Republican.
  • Trent E. Christensen, Republican.

  • Michelle Quist, United Utah.

Governor

While Utah Gov. Spencer Cox is running for reelection, he has a handful of Republican challengers, including former Utah GOP Chair Carson Jorgenson and state Rep. Phil Lyman.

Utah Democrats also have fielded a candidate in the race, Rep. Brian King, former Utah House minority leader.

Here are the remaining candidates for governor:

  • Scott Robbins, Republican.
  • Sylvia Fisk, Republican.
  • Tom Tomeny, unaffiliated.
  • J. Robert Latham, Libertarian.
  • Tommy Williams, Independent American.

State auditor

With Dougall running for Congress, Weber County Clerk/Auditor Ricky Hatch and Tina Cannon are the two Republicans running for the seat.

There’s also one Democratic candidate, Catherine Voutaz, and Constitution Party candidate Jeffrey L. Ostler.

State treasurer

Three candidates have filed for state treasurer — incumbent Republican Marlo Oaks, Democrat Neil A. Hansen and Utah Forward candidate Miles Pomeroy.

Utah State Senate

Most state Senate seats opening in Utah County have at least two contenders, with the exception of Senate District 27.

The most crowded race will be in Senate District 24, which currently is represented by Sen. Curt Bramble, R-Provo. Bramble, who has been in the Legislature for nearly 24 years, has three GOP challengers — Rep. Keven Stratton, former Sen. Dan Hemmert and former Rep. Brad Daw. David Hinckley, the chair of the Utah County Forward Party, also is running for the seat.

In Senate District 22, newly elected Sen. Heidi Balderree has two Republican challengers — Emily Lockhart and Garrett Cammans.

Balderree was elected by Utah GOP delegates in October to replace then-Sen. Jake Anderegg, while Lockhart, who is the daughter of Becky Lockhart, the first female Utah House speaker, also ran.

In Senate District 25, Sen. Mike McKell, R-Spanish Fork, will compete against Republican candidate Michael Cook and Democrat Alan Hansen.

Sen. David Hinkins, R-Ferron, has one Democratic opponent, Corbin Frost, in Senate District 26. Sen. Derrin Owens, R-Fountain Green, is running unopposed.

Utah State House

With Stratton pursuing the state Senate, there are four candidates — three Republicans and one Democrat — vying for his House seat. Candidates include Holly Sweeten, a staffer for Rep. Owens; Dave Shallenberger, a local business owner; Angela Moulton; and Democrat candidate Joshua Sorensen.

Rep. Marsha Judkins, R-Provo, won’t be seeking reelection in House District 61. Three Republican candidates have filed to run in her place — Provo City Councilman Travis Hoban; Lisa Shepherd, policy advisor to Utah County Commissioner Tom Sakievich; and Kenneth Grover.

In House District 66, Rep. Steven Lund has not filed for reelection. Republican candidates who have filed to run are Brian Nielson, Linda Hanks, Leon Day and Troy Shelley. Joseph Fuchsel is running as a Consitution Party candidate.

Two Republicans, Michael Cox and Alyssa May, are running against incumbent Rep. Nelson Abbott, R-Orem. There’s also one Democratic candidate in the House District 57 race, Alan Keele.

Five incumbent Republicans have no GOP challengers but will have one Democratic candidate run against them. Rep. Cory Maloy will face Michael Keller; Rep. Norm Thurston has Kevin Slater running against him; Rep. Stephen Whyte will run against Mark Youngquist; Rep. Jeff Burton is facing Rick Dougan; and Rep. Doug Welton is running against Joseph Hansen.

Rep. Kay Christofferson will face third-party candidate Alex Day with the United Utah Party. Representatives running unopposed are: Stephine Gricius, Jefferson Moss, Brady Brammer, Jon Hawkins, Val Peterson and Tyler Clancy.
