The number of daily flights in and out of Provo Airport continues to grow.

American Airlines announced plans in April to operate two daily flights to and from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and one daily flight to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport beginning Oct. 7.

On Wednesday, American announced it will be adding a third daily flight from Provo to Dallas/Fort Worth, to begin roughly a month later on Nov. 5.

“The power of three daily flights means local travelers have even more of an opportunity to connect to American’s vast network at DFW, which will be valuable to both business and leisure travelers,” Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi said in a news release.

American Airlines officials say service to both Dallas/Fort Worth and Phoenix will connect travelers flying out of Utah County to destinations in the Western U.S., Hawaii and Mexico.

“American’s convenient schedule from PVU to DFW and PHX will enable one-stop connections to more than 200 destinations around the world on our comprehensive global network,” Joe Sottile, American’s director of domestic network planning, said in the release.

American Airlines began selling tickets for its upcoming service from Provo in late April.

The flights will be on CRJ 700 regional jet aircraft that hold 65 passengers and include nine first-class seats.

“The efficient travel times featured at the Provo Airport promise greater convenience for the travel journey,” Brian Torgersen, Provo Airport director, said in the release. “Expedited travel time frees up the opportunity to explore Provo’s unique destinations or conduct business.”

On June 7, Breeze Airways began flying twice a week from Provo to Dallas.

Starting at $4.32/week.
