Joshua Clarke of Spanish Fork was last seen Tuesday, March 12, 2024, near 2400 S. 1400 West in Mapleton.

Police are searching for a Spanish Fork man who was reported missing more than two weeks ago.

Joshua Clarke, 45, was last seen in Mapleton on March 12 around 2400 S. 1400 West and his family reported him missing the following day.

Lt. Cory Slaymaker with the Spanish Fork Police Department said officers have continued searching, sometimes with the assistance of other agencies such as Mapleton police, Utah County Sheriff Search and Rescue and the Department of Public Safety.

Slaymaker said much of the search has been conducted around Mapleton.

“We believe he possibly could have went to the foothills above Mapleton because that’s where he was last seen,” he said.

Slaymaker said the Department of Public Safety has conducted a helicopter search in the area but it didn’t turn up any leads.

He added that the police department has received a few calls from people who think they may have seen Clarke and detectives have followed up on those tips.

Clake’s family told Fox 13 that he is an avid hiker and mountaineer and asked for people who are out in the mountain areas of Utah County to keep an eye out for him.

Clarke was last seen wearing “Scarpa hiking boots, black pants, (a) grey or possibly blue jacket with a dark colored hat and black backpack,” according to a Spanish Fork Police Facebook post on March 18. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.

If residents have any information on Clarke’s whereabouts or believe they have seen him, Slaymaker said to call Spanish Fork police at 801-804-4700.
