Provo man dies after crash, extrication in Cedar Fort
A Provo man is dead after crashing into a semitruck, leading to an extrication, in Cedar Fort.
According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received a report of a car on Pioneer Crossing “swerving all over the road” but were unable to locate the driver.
A short time later, deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to a crash on state Route 73 in Cedar Fort, where the same vehicle reportedly had drifted across the center line and slammed into the side of a semi heading the opposite direction.
The driver, identified as 62-year-old Daniel Curtis Brock, was trapped in his vehicle for 50 minutes while responders worked to extricate him, the sheriff’s office said.
Brock was airlifted to a hospital where he later died.
Debris from the crash left minor damages on a third vehicle.
Neither the driver of the semi nor the driver of the third vehicle were injured from the crash.
No other information about the incident was released.
