The Cheesecake Factory will be open for business at University Place in Orem starting July 2, according to a press release.

The new restaurant was first announced early this year in January and will replace the Los Hermanos Mexican restaurant, which has since moved back to its original home in Provo.

Cheesecake Factory has two other locations in Utah, one in Salt Lake City at the City Creek Mall and a second in Murray at the Fashion Place Mall.

“When we ask customers at University Place what new restaurant they most want, Cheesecake Factory always tops the list,” said Danny Woodbury, senior vice president of leasing at Woodbury Corp, in a January press release first announcing the new restaurant.

Aside from cheesecake, the restaurant offers an expansive menu featuring salads, sandwiches, pasta, seafood and steaks.

To prepare for opening, Cheesecake Factory is hiring for hundreds of staff positions, such as servers and line cooks.

Los Hermanos, which held the restaurant space Cheesecake Factory is moving into, reopened in Provo in February, according to a Facebook post.

The local Mexican restaurant had been located at University Place since 2019 but spent its first 30 years in downtown Provo before a fire forced the restaurant to move. It is now located on the corner of University Avenue and Center Street, just down the road from its original location.
