New CEO appointed to take the reins at Wasatch Behavioral Health

Randy Huntington, newly appointed chief executive officer of Wasatch Behavioral Health, is pictured in an undated photo.The Wasatch Behavioral Health Authority Board announced last week the appointment of Randy Huntington as the new chief executive officer of Wasatch Behavioral Health. He’ll replace Juergen Korbanka, who is set to retire this summer after more than 30 years of service with the organization, according to a press release issued Sunday.
Huntington, a member of the community behavioral health center for the past 29 years, began his career as a clinical supervisor and most recently served as the substance use disorder division director.
As a former adjunct faculty member at Utah Valley University Police Academy, Huntington has presented several times on the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness on local, state and national levels, according to a biography on the organization’s website.
“Throughout his tenure, Mr. Huntington has demonstrated exceptional leadership across various departments and has cultivated a comprehensive understanding of the services we provide to our community,” Wasatch Behavioral Health Authority Board Chairman and Utah County Commissioner Skyler Beltran said in the release.
Wasatch Behavioral Health works to prevent suicide and other mental health crises through a multitude of services in Utah and Wasatch counties for adults, children, teenagers and families.
The behavioral health center aims to continue prioritizing high-level compassionate care to the communities it serves. Future plans include expanded access to mental health and substance use disorder services and enhanced forms of outreach efforts to better serve clients, the release stated.
Huntington’s new role as CEO at Wasatch Behavioral Health will take effect on June 1. In the meantime, he and Korbanka will work closely to ensure a seamless transition or leadership.
“We are committed to fostering a supportive environment for our staff and individuals we serve, and we will strive to be at the forefront of behavioral health care, Beltran said in the release.
