Fairview Museum’s Christmas Tree Forest Celebration spreads joy and support

Annual Tradition Grows with Wreath Additions to Benefit Deserving Families

Museum visitor, Mable Rayor (4) and Rinda Thompson, board member, pose as Shirlene Rasmussen, Fairview City Councilman, playfully peers around a wreath she donated for the Christmas Tree Forest event held annually at the Fairview Museum.

In a heartwarming annual tradition, The Fairview Museum of History and Art is once again hosting the Christmas Tree Forest Celebration, bringing together individuals and local businesses to adorn and deliver enchanting Christmas trees to deserving families in Sanpete. This festive endeavor is spearheaded by Branch Cox and Mayor Brad Welch, who personally deliver the holiday cheer each Christmas season.

Mayor Welch shares, “The best part is the surprise on the faces and the gratefulness and happiness of the families when a tree is unexpectedly delivered to their home.”

Under the dedicated direction of Rinda Thomson for several years, the event has evolved into a cherished tradition. Thomson notes, “You kind of fall in love with the trees, and it’s hard to give them away.”

This year, the celebration has expanded to include beautifully decorated wreaths, providing more opportunities for people to contribute and participate. The diverse themes of the trees and wreaths add a touch of creativity to the display.

If you wish to contribute by donating a tree or wreath or know of a family that could use an extra dose of love this year, reach out to Branch Cox at (435) 469-1369 or Bonnie East at (435) 262-7691, or contact the Museum at (435) 427-9216. The public is invited to visit and admire the festive display, with the option to purchase items for personal enjoyment or as a heartfelt gift for a family in need. The event runs until Dec. 9, after which the items will be personally delivered to deserving families or a family of your choice. Half of the proceeds will be shared with the Food Pantry in Mt. Pleasant.

Visit The Fairview Museum at 85 North 100 East, Fairview, during winter hours: Tuesday-Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your support is greatly appreciated in making this holiday season brighter for families in need.

Starting at $4.32/week.
