By Staff | Feb 21, 2024

Those that wanted to, could get their picture in front of a "Be the "I" in K_ND poster.

In an effort to cultivate a culture of kindness, Elise Hanson, counselor at Spring City Elementary School, orchestrated a heartwarming Kindness Week from February 12-15, 2024. Each day brought a unique theme, fostering positivity and thoughtful gestures among students.

Monday: “Team Up for Kindness”

On the inaugural day, students proudly wore team shirts and were encouraged to spread smiles by connecting with 25 people throughout the day.

Tuesday: “Kind from Head to Toe”

Students embraced individuality by donning hats and crazy socks. In tandem with this, they were tasked with writing heartfelt messages to brighten someone’s day.

Wednesday: “We Love Kindness”

Valentine’s Day took a compassionate turn as students adorned themselves in red or pink, engaging in the act of complimenting five people, promoting love and positivity.

Thursday: “Work Out Problems with Kindness”

The week’s activities took a healthy turn as students sported workout clothes, culminating in an exercise of gratitude where they listed 10 things they were thankful for.

As a delightful memento, those interested had the opportunity to capture their Kindness Week memories by posing in front of the “Be the ‘I’ in K_ND” poster.

On Wednesday, the 6th-grade class elevated the spirit of the week by presenting the play “Marvin and Jessie Learn About Courtesy” to both the school and parents. The overall consensus is that Kindness Week has been a resounding success, with students expressing that the activities played a significant role in fostering a culture of kindness and empathy.
