Born and raised in Spring City, Cynthia has deep roots in this charming town. She grew up in the home her grandfather built for her grandmother, a place that has seen generations of her family grow and thrive. Her early years were spent in the local schools of Sanpete County, where she attended church, learned values, and developed a personality shaped by this beautiful locale. Though she married later in life, her love for Spring City never wavered, and she now brings her grandchildren to visit as often as possible, sharing the town’s magic with the next generation.
Her husband, Paul De Grey, shares that Cynthia’s commitment to Spring City has always been unwavering. “Cynthia is a Spring City gal through and through,” he says. “She’s well-loved by her family and friends in the community, and she has spent much of her life serving, building up, and promoting our town.”
Cynthia’s service to Spring City is nothing short of remarkable. She has served as a councilwoman on the Spring City Council and took on the role of Mayor with great enthusiasm. One of her most notable achievements was promoting the restoration of the Old School into a cultural center and city hall, now one of the most unique in Utah. Her passion for preserving the town’s history and fostering community spirit is evident in every project she undertakes.
When the local National Guard unit returned from Desert Storm, Cynthia organized a heartfelt “Welcome Home” celebration, complete with a commemorative DVD to capture the moment. Her involvement in the community extended to the Spring City Lion’s Club, where she played a key role in promoting the popular “Old Skool” car show, a favorite event among local car enthusiasts for many years.
Cynthia’s contributions to the town’s annual 24th of July celebrations have become a beloved tradition. Her tireless efforts ensure that these events are memorable and meaningful for all residents. Cynthia’s dedication to Spring City has earned her the title of a true “Community Spirit.”
Spring City Mayor, Chris Anderson, praises Cynthia for her remarkable contributions. “Cynthia is a remarkable community member and leader,” Mayor Anderson said. “She served faithfully as our mayor, and upon the expiration of her term, she did not retire from community service. Cynthia has effectively advocated for our youth and tirelessly promoted town activities and events. She has long been the force behind our annual Miss Spring City competition, and in recent years, she has ensured our Pioneer Days activities are second to none. We congratulate Cynthia on this well-deserved recognition.”

Her dedication to the community is not just about maintaining its history but also about creating new traditions and fostering a sense of unity among its residents.
