“Confident” is the theme for this year’s Miss Fairview Scholarship Pageant featuring 6 exceptional young ladies competing for the title. The winner will replace the current reigning Miss Fairview, Kambrielle Grasteit, who has accomplished a fantastic year representing the city of Fairview. The 2023 contestants are:

Sophia Grace Johnson, daughter of Joel and Emily Johnson. Her service platform is “Be your best self,” encouraging others to avoid harmful substances, and to focus on a healthy lifestyle. She will be performing a vocal solo. Sophia’s career ambition is to become certified as a pharmacy technician, and to receive a certificate in nutrition.

Alyssa Fey Cox, daughter of Jerry and Lacey Cox. Her service platform is “The Cost of Living with Diabetes,” to bring additional attention to the resources available to those struggling to afford insulin. Alyssa will be performing a clarinet solo. She plans to further her education to become a veterinarian or own an animal grooming service.

Brecklyn Veronica Thompson, daughter of Shayne and Natalie Thompson. Her service platform is “Food for the Weekend,” helping to distribute “Kid Packs” to provide much needed food for kids on the weekends. She will be performing a vocal solo “A Million Dreams” from the movie “The Greatest Showman.” Brecklyn’s career ambition is to become a dermatologist.

BrexAnn Belt, daughter of Lindsay Poole and Ryan Belt. Her service platform is “Just Breathe,” helping those who suffer with anxiety and stress. She will be performing a dance solo to “Control” by Zoe Wees. BrexAnn plans to graduate from The University of Utah to become a clinical psychologist.

Courtney Maren Sorenson, daughter of Dan and Diane Sorenson. Her service platform is “Suicide Prevention,” spreading awareness and hope to those struggling with suicidal thoughts, and the effects that are experienced by all those left behind. Courtney will be performing a vocal solo entitled “I’ll Be There” by Walk off the Earth. She has many career ambitions, including cosmetology, photography and vocal performance.

Kayly Rodriguez Cruz, daughter of Hernan and Rosario Rodriguez. Her service platform is “Our World,” helping others to create, grow, and become the best version individually that they can become. Kayly will be giving an inspirational expository speech. Her career ambition is to receive a bachelor’s degree in business management administration and eventually own her own business.

The 2023 Miss Fairview Scholarship Pageant will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Peterson Dance Hall in Fairview. Come and support these lovely ladies to see who will be crowned our next Miss Fairview! Tickets sold at the door: adults – $5 and children – (3-11) $3.
