Maple Mountain students win business competition, $20k for startup company
Two Maple Mountain High School students came away big winners Monday after competing in a business competition in Salem modeled after Shark Tank. Jenna Rowley and Emily Holmes won the Invest Nest Regional Finals and a $20,000 business scholarship for their startup business, “Menstrual Magik.” Their product is a chocolate bar containing natural caffeine and a pain reliever to help ease the side effects of women’s menstrual cycles. “We both have talked about wanting to continue this business, and this is just a perfect avenue to be able to do that,” Holmes said. “We have so ...
