Provo Fire captain, family members killed in Wayne County flash flood

“We are absolutely heartbroken by the death of Captain Spencer Long and his family,” the department posted on social media Saturday evening. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”
The family is survived by a daughter, Lydia, according to the GoFundMe.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported Saturday that three male bodies were found in a wash near the Sunglow Campground Friday night, and that two additional bodies were found Saturday. Authorities believed they were killed by flooding caused by heavy rains.
The sheriff’s office said the individuals were believed to be part of a missing family group that had arrived at the Sunglow Campground area Friday to go hiking and canyoneering.
Katrina Long was the co-founder of Summit Medical Spa, with locations in Spanish Fork and Eagle Mountain.
“There are simply no words to express the depth of this loss,” the business said in a post Saturday evening. “Katrina was so much more than a co-founder — she was the heart of Summit Medical Spa.
