The event will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Library Hall at the city complex, 56 N. State St.

“Meet the Candidate Night is a unique chance to come and hear from each of the candidates and then get the opportunity to interact with them and ask questions,” said Teresa McKitrick, city recorder. “There are few opportunities where a voter will be able to have access to all the candidates in one setting. We encourage those interested to come and get to know our Orem City Council candidates.”

From 6-7 p.m., candidates will each briefly address the audience in the auditorium and have the chance to talk about their campaign and vision for Orem.

From 7-8 p.m. open house style visiting will be available, allowing the public to personally meet the candidates. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss platforms. The seats up for election are currently held by Jeff Lambson, Terry Peterson and Debby Lauret. Neither Lauret nor Peterson are seeking reelection.

Candidates registered for the primary include; Crystal Muhlstein, Matt McKell, Greg Duerden, Chris Killpack, Lambson, Archie Williams III, Spencer Rands, Heather Fry, Jenn Gale, David Edward Garber, Mike Carpenter and Wade Sewell.

The Orem City communications team met with each candidate and asked the same set of questions. These videos are posted on the city’s YouTube page and the Orem election website: orem.org/elections.

For those that can’t attend the event, the first hour will be recorded and posted to the elections website.
