Salem, formerly known as Pond Town, is now home to more than 8,200 people, but it hasn’t always had a population in the thousands.

The city of Salem was originally settled in 1851 and was incorporated on May 10, 1920, and has grown since that time. However, the city still has some remnants of the old scenes of Salem.
