Nevada head coach Chris Ault said on Monday the low block by Wolfpack offensive lineman John Bender on Romney Fuga was a clip and should have been called, but it wasn't intended to injure Fuga, who is out for the season.

This according to the Reno Journal Gazette. You can read the full blog entry by the RJG's Dan Hixman at the address below.

In addition, the hit is being examined by the Western Athletic Conference. We should hear later today if Bender is disciplined.

Hixman wondered if the leg whip attributed to Bender was a mistake by the officials, and it was. I watched the replay and the leg whip should have been on No. 67 (Jeff Meads), not No. 62 (Bender).
