Murray man charged with sexually assaulting child in Utah County
Charges were filed Tuesday in Provo District Court against a man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. The Utah County Attorney’s Office charged James Jayden Smith, 18, of Murray, with one count of sodomy of a child, one count of object rape of a child and one count of rape of a child. Smith also faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly distributing drugs to a minor. As alleged by police, Smith had been communicating with the child on social media and traveled to Utah County on or around June 9 to visit her.
