Leon Jex Thomas
Leon Jex Thomas, 88, passed away November 13, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Leon was born and raised in Spanish Fork. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School. Leon was the fourth and last child born to Robert Jarvis and Sarah Jex Thomas. He went to work at the age of 18 at the Spanish Fork Foundry as a Coremaker and worked there for 35 years. After an accident forced him to retire, he started going swimming at the Springville pool every morning at 5 o’clock. He did this for over 30 years. There he made a lot of good friends.
Leon was a lifetime member of the Diamond Fork Riding Club and had a lot of good times there. In 2014, he was entered into their Hall of Fame. Leon loved horses and anything to do with rodeo.
Leon married Linda Jackson from Springville. They were married for 60 years. Leon was the father of 5 children, Gay (Jack) Swan, Devon (Carol) Woods, Melissa (Scott) Gren, Brice (Valorie) Thomas, Chad (Helina) Thomas. He had 16 grandkids and 24 great grandkids.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, November 17th at Spanish Fork Cemetery (420 S. 400 E.) at 1p.m.
