Rome LDS Temple

The Rome Italy Temple is scheduled to be open for public tours from Monday, January 28, to Saturday, February 16, 2019, excluding Sundays

Members of the public will soon get a first glimpse inside the new LDS temple in Rome, Italy.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Thursday that the temple will be open for a free public open house on Jan. 29 through Feb. 16, 2019. It will not be open on Sundays.

The temple will then be dedicated on March 10 through March 17.

The Rome Italy Temple was announced in October 2008, and construction began on Oct. 23, 2010.

The temple is a three-story, 40,000-square-foot building on a 15-acre area. The 15 acres house a religious cultural center that will include a meetinghouse, a visitors’ center, a family history center and housing for visitors.

According to the LDS Church, the temple in Rome will serve more than 23,000 members of the LDS faith living in Italy and neighboring countries.
