Our recent Herald Poll on polygamy included these responses:
Thank you for your sound arguments and well-presented article. It's refreshing amid the plethora of sensationalism that usually surrounds polygamy stories. Polygamy does not equal child abuse. Polygamy should definitely be decriminalized.

I hate to mention this, but the banner headline "GOP insiders allege shenanigans," is a tad misleading.

Based on your story on the front page, EnergySolutions Inc. is desperately trying an end run to try to ram through their Italian waste agenda. Their spokesman is quoted as saying, "A lot of people don't have a good understanding of what's involved here."

I am curious to wonder why the Daily Herald didn't mention anything about the Day of Silence. It occurred in many schools across the state, but not a thing was said about the cause or effect of it. At my school, my friend and I had set up a way to support the Day of Silence and worked very hard to have it approved and make it happen, but nothing was said. I know that many students at American Fork High school participated also. I attend Pleasant Grove High and was appalled at what people (other students) continued to say! I had heard countless times "Fags should all be permanently silenced". Is this what this city is about? Teaching our children to Discriminate against anyone different? I have been told by students attending PGHS, "All gays should be shot." I find this inappropriate. But no matter how many times I talk to the principals about it, nothing is done.

Several years ago we decided to switch from dial-up internet to broadband. We considered larger companies but decided to take a chance on iProvo. We have not regretted that decision. The wireless internet in our home provided by iProvo is fast and nearly trouble free. When there is a problem, the MStar customer service rep works to figure it out and gets us back on line quickly. I've only had to call customer service a handful of times, and while it was slow in the beginning, it is top-notch now.

What is difference between polygamy and a man who fathers a bunch of kids with different women doesn't take care of them and the mothers are on welfare? Child abuse should never be tolerated When it happens the state should step in. What is the difference between a polygamist and a man who has a wife and several girlfriends on the side? That happens. What is the difference between the polygamist women getting welfare and food stamps than the unwed mother of four living with the father of some of the children and living on welfare and doing drugs and moving the kids from place to place when the landlord or the state finds out about the father and she loses her housing.

On May 1st, the American Lung Association released its State of the Air: 2008 report awarding Logan, Salt Lake City and Provo with "F" for short-term air quality where spikes in pollution make it especially harmful for lungs and submerge us and our beautiful mountains in a fog of health-damaging smog. These Utah communities (including their surrounding areas) rank among the dozen worst cities for spikes in air pollution. Logan ranks 6th, Salt Lake City 7th and Provo 12th.

What is the deal with graffiti in Provo? I just went past the RC Willey Store and saw all kinds of graffiti on it. A block away, the same group of vandals hit the sidewalk protector in front of the newly proposed Zion's Bank Tower. These groups have become more brazen and seem to have no fear of the Provo Police Department. When my business was "tagged", it took one week for an officer to get back to me so that the mess could be photographed and added to the gang catalog.
