5 ways to have fun with your family in Utah County this week
Utah County is a great place for family fun, with events across the valley for kids of all ages. Here are five fun events that are perfect for the whole family this week:
Start off Steel Days
Steel Days in American Fork kick off Friday, and run through July 21. This weekend’s events include several events for those of all ages including the annual garden tour and a horseshoe tournament on Friday, the car show and cruise and a youth street dance on Saturday and the American Fork Symphony Concert on Monday evening.

Head to the Payson Scottish Festival and Highland Games
You don’t have to have Scottish heritage to enjoy the Scottish Festival in Payson. Friday night the excitement begins with food, storytelling and strongman competitions. Saturday, the fun continues with Highland Dance shows, Highland Athletic competitions and bagpipe competitions. The event is great for those of all ages to enjoy.

Check out the farmers markets
Help the whole family enjoy the atmosphere of healthy eating as three new farmers markets open this week around Utah County. The Sunset Farmers Market will have three separate markets this week — one in Springville, one in Orem, and one in Cedar Hills.
The Sunset Farmers Market in Springville will run from 5-9 p.m. at the Springville Civic Center. The Sunset Farmers Market in Cedar Hills will be held at Heritage Park every Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and the Sunset Farmers Market in Orem can be found at the Orchard at University Place from 5-9 p.m. every Friday evening. All three markets run through the end of October.
The Provo Farmers Market is also open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pioneer Park through the end of October.

Watch a movie outside
It may be hot outside, but the perfect way to enjoy summer is to head outside in the cool evenings for an outdoor movie.
The SCERA Center for the Arts will be showing “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” on Wednesday at dusk.
University Place will continue its Movie Nights series with “Singing in the Rain” on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m.
Friday night, three cities will host movie nights. Lindon’s Movies in the Park will feature “Hoodwinked” on Friday at the City Center Park at dusk. “Coco” will be the featured movie at Eagle Mountain’s Movies in the Park on Friday at 9 p.m. at Silverlake Amphitheater. Thanksgiving Point’s Outdoor Movie this week will be “Jumanji” and will air Friday evening at dusk.
In Springville, you can see “Coco” on Monday evening at dusk at Spring Acres Park.
Celebrate summer with the Big Summer Bash
Provo Towne Center will host its first ever Big Summer Bash, along with The Tribe. The event will include live performances, a fireworks show, food trucks, vendors, activities, games and a late-night dance party for college-age students. There also will be separate pie-eating contests for kids and adults. The event will include fun activities for the entire family, and those of all ages.
When: 4 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday
