Truth in Taxation season has arrived. Multiple governmental agencies in Utah County are proposing to raise property taxes, and will hold a Truth in Taxation public hearings this month to discuss the proposals. The largest potential tax increase comes from Eagle Mountain, where city officials are proposing a 220.88% increase that will add $6,742,938 in revenue. That means an annual increase from $142.25 to $456.28 for a residence with an average market value of $488,000, and from $258.64 to $829.60 for a commercial property worth $488,000.
