The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a rendering of the temple to be built in Payson to people in the immediate area of the temple, although it has not officially been released to the media.

The location for the Payson Temple is 930 West and 1550 South, which is on the southwest side of Payson, just a mile from the 800 South Interstate 15 interchange.

The new temple will help to ease the heavy use of the Provo Temple, which is one of the busiest temples. The new temple will serve approximately 22 stakes from Spanish Fork to Nephi, which amounts to about 78,000 LDS Church members.

The Payson Temple was announced in 2010. There are 15 temples either operating or announced in Utah.
