Eagle Mountain City Council approves 183% rate increase to property taxes
The Eagle Mountain City Council unanimously approved a 183% property tax rate increase at a Truth in Taxation hearing Thursday night, increasing the annual rate for a median household by around $255 a year for a property revenue increase of approximately $5.5 million. The tax rate increase of 0.001500 is less than the proposed increase of 0.001700, which would have been a 220.88% increase to bring in an additional $6,742,938 in revenue.
