Jared Alan Horning
Jared Alan Horning (42) passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, as the result of a collision while traveling across Wyoming to spend time with his family. Born April 12, 1979, to Gary Lee Horning and Sandra Kay Merkley in Jamestown, North Dakota, Jared’s formative years were spent with his 10 siblings enjoying the great outdoors. Jared and his siblings formed lifelong bonds that kept the family close, despite the physical distance after he moved to Utah. Jared’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his two young sons, Jake and Jaxson. He was a doting father and caregiver who was always looking for new and exciting adventures to experience with his sons. An avid outdoorsman, Jared found peace and connection while engaging in fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking, and playing or spectating football. We will greatly miss his sense of humor, kindness, and generosity as we try and navigate life going forward.
Jared is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sarah Martell and two sons Jake Ryan Horning and Jaxson Hunter Horning. He is also survived by his parents Gary Horning, Sandra and Don Merkley as well as his siblings Gary Horning Jr., Desirae Johnson, Cameron Horning, Celeste Bendish, Deidre Wessner, Erica Zaine, Amber Brintnell, Rochelle Horning, Crystal Banks, and BreaAnn Odom in addition to numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws, and additional family and friends who loved him.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Bismarck, North Dakota.
