Funeral for Santaquin officer killed in duty to be held Monday
Funeral arrangements for Santaquin Police officer Sgt. Bill Hooser are set for next week. Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the Daily Herald that the service will take place at the UCCU Events Center at Utah Valley University in Orem at 10 a.m. Monday. Hooser was killed in the line of duty Sunday when authorities say 42-year-old Micheal Jayne intentionally hit the officer with a semitruck after fleeing a traffic stop on Interstate 15 in Santaquin.
