UDOT testing new light metering method at Pioneer Crossing freeway entrance ramp
The Utah Department of Transportation is taking a different approach with traffic signals that it believes will break up the large platoon of cars entering the freeway in American Fork at the southbound Pioneer Crossing on-ramp to Interstate 15. UDOT is trying out a new ramp metering method at the freeway entrance that uses a simultaneous release system, meaning cars in all three lanes will get a green light at once.
