According to a 2005 Deseret News article, nearly 80 percent of Utah’s legislature are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, though only about 60 percent of the population belongs to the Church.

The last time non-LDS governor of Utah was J. Bracken Lee, who served from January 1949 to January 1957. There were only two other non-LDS governors before him.
