Lindon Mayor Carolyn Lundberg, second from right, City Council members and parks and recreation members pose for a photo with new photo mosaic display at city hall on Jan. 21, 2025.

The city of Lindon officially wrapped up its year-long centennial celebrations at the end of 2024, but the final activity commemorating the city’s 100 years just wrapped up late last month.

Last October, Lindon officials put a call out for submissions to be used for a photo mosaic of the City Center building.

Thousands of photos featuring people, families, historic landmarks in the city and more were submitted through mid-December.

The Lindon Parks and Recreation department presented the centennial mosaic photo to the City Council during their meeting on Jan. 21 and received high praise.

The centennial mosaic is made up of over 3,000 pictures of Lindon citizens, events, employees and scenes from Lindon and now sits inside of the City Center.

“Thank you to everyone who made this special for our little bit of country,” city officials said in a social media post on Jan. 30.

A time capsule was also showcased during that meeting that is set to be buried near the City Center and will be opened in 2074, which will mark the city’s 150th anniversary.

Those interested in visiting the new celebratory attraction can visit the Lindon City Center or the city’s website for operating hours.
