Dallin H. Oaks was sustained as president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a prophet, seer and revelator in a churchwide solemn assembly during the first session of General Conference Saturday morning at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. Solemn assemblies are special, sacred meetings held only on rare occasions, including the first general conference after a new church president is selected, according to the church.
