Community rallies around family of 9-year-old hit and killed in Pleasant Grove intersection
A makeshift memorial with balloons and flowers along with a note that reads “We Love You” was near a Pleasant Grove intersection on Wednesday in honor of a young boy who lost his life there the day prior. Police said the 9-year-old was riding his bike when he was struck by a white pickup truck at the corner of 2600 North and 900 West just before 4 p.m. Tuesday. The driver reportedly left the scene after the incident, according to police, who said they later were able to identify the suspected motorist as an elderly man, possibly in his 70s.
