LOGAN — Remember when, as a student, the opportunity was there to attend a class at a college or university on plants and gardening, but then you didn’t?
Well, now people are in charge of their own yards, and are perhaps kicking themselves for not taking the class. Well that’s where the USU Extension steps in.
Besides the expert information available on their yard and garden site, USU Extension also offers in-person classes in every county throughout the year. If a person’s schedule prevents them from attending an in-person class, USU Extension has that covered too.
To learn from the garden experts in a matter of minutes through USU Extension online gardening courses. Search for upcoming classes by visiting https://extension.usu.edu/yardandgarden/calendar or check out the choices in the USU Extension Gardening Course online classes by visiting https://extensioncourses.usu.edu/product-category/yard-and-garden/.
The USU Extension office for Sanpete County also offers access to classes. To see the current offerings or to visit with the local agent, visit http://extension.usu.edu/sanpete/ or drop by for a visit at 325 West 100 North, Ephraim. Office hours are Monday — Thursday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or by appointment. (435) 283-3472.
There is also the option of participating in USU Extension Garden Membership, which provides access to classes taught by gardening experts and discounts on events such as baby animal days and plant sales.
Becoming a garden member ensures the future of serene, beautiful places like the Ogden Botanical Gardens and the USU Botanical Center. It also gives participants and their family opportunities to experience and appreciate nature.
